Provide leadership and daily supervision of the district's maintenance department.
Work alongside maintenance personnel in the repair and maintenance of district facilities, grounds, and equipment.
Plan, assign, prioritize, and inspect maintenance work to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with high quality.
Perform skilled maintenance work, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, roofing, and general building repairs.
Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for all district buildings and equipment.
Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize disruption to instructional activities.
Oversee maintenance of district grounds, athletic facilities, parking areas, and outdoor equipment.
Manage the district's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program in compliance with Texas Department of Agriculture regulations, including maintaining all required documentation.
Respond to maintenance emergencies and be available for after-hours callouts when necessary.
Obtain quotes, coordinate vendors and contractors, and monitor contracted work.
Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, equipment, and parts.
Assist with facility improvements, renovations, and special projects.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards and district policies.
Assist in developing and managing the department budget.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
QualificationsRequired
High school diploma or GED.
Current Texas Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Certification.
Minimum of five (5) years of commercial, industrial, or institutional maintenance experience.
At least three (3) years of supervisory or lead maintenance experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
PreferredExperience in K-12 public school maintenance.
Trade certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields.
Experience managing preventative maintenance programs.
Experience with work order and maintenance management systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong leadership with a willingness to work alongside staff.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve a wide variety of facility maintenance issues.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical RequirementsFrequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Climb ladders, work on rooftops, and operate maintenance equipment.
Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
Work outside normal business hours and respond to emergency maintenance situations when needed.
